The problem
A new enterprise product starts with nothing: no customers, no reference accounts and no proof. Enterprise buyers have seen every demo. They pay only when a product removes a cost they already carry, and they renew only when it keeps doing so.
The usual answer is a broad roadmap, a polished pitch and a year of building before the first serious buyer says no. By then the money is spent and the market has moved.
The challenge: build products that earn their first enterprise customer quickly, then compound into annual revenue that ranges from millions of dollars to, at the top, more than half a billion.
The approach
I run product and revenue as one loop, and I build the first versions myself.
Find the carried cost. Discovery with operators and executives until the cost is named in their own numbers: cancelled orders, stock-outs, manual reconciliation, settlement leakage, slow onboarding.
Build the first version by hand. Requirements, data model, design and the first release owned end to end. Today I often write that first version myself with AI agents, so a working product reaches the customer before a slide deck would.
Design the revenue with the product. Packaging, pricing and the commercial model shaped alongside the features, so every capability has a buyer, a price and a reason to expand.
Treat every pitch as an experiment. Each proposal and prototype tests one value hypothesis. A lost deal is evidence about the product, not only about the sale.
Scope to a named gap. Every release closes a gap a paying customer can point to. Features without a named buyer wait.
Expand from the first account. Land with one product, prove it in production, then extend across the suite: orders, warehouse, catalogue, B2B, loyalty and analytics.
The result
Products taken from the first requirement to annual revenue that ranges from $5M to more than $500M.
Across eleven years, more than 20 products designed and delivered end to end with engineering teams. The most recent, including a payment reconciliation engine and a jewellery ERP, I built myself with AI agents.
The same loop now shapes how every new product goes to market across seven markets: India, the Middle East, South East Asia, Hong Kong, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The principle: revenue is the most honest product review. Build only what someone will pay to keep.
