The problem

Enterprise buyers have seen every demo. What they cannot judge from a demo is whether the product will survive their own processes, their own data and their worst trading day.

Enterprise programmes are bought by committees. Operations, finance, technology and the board each ask a different question, and a deal is won only when every one of them gets a straight answer.

Deals won on the demo tend to fail in implementation. The gap between demo fit and operating fit is where enterprise software loses trust.

The approach

I run pre-sales as the first product review, and I lead it myself from discovery to signature.

  • System study first. Map how orders, stock, catalogue and money move today, including peak periods and manual workarounds.

  • Context before solution. Who owns the decision, what each function fears, and which metric the sponsor will be judged on, mapped before a single slide is written.

  • A fit table in every proposal. Each requirement is marked as fits, configures or does not fit. A stated misfit is the claim a buyer trusts most.

  • Proof on the buyer's own data. Prototypes and sample outputs built on their products, volumes and exceptions. In catalogue work, that means enriching a sample of their own catalogue and showing the gap against their live site, attribute by attribute.

  • Executive-grade documents. Every proposal opens with an executive summary and keeps scope, exclusions and commercials explicit. My own AI document and presentation engines produce them, so quality holds at speed.

  • Sold scope equals delivered scope. What is promised in the room is what the buyer's teams use after go-live.

The result

An 80 per cent pre-sales conversion rate across more than ten multinational brands.

The same method now runs my enterprise deals in seven markets, including engagements with Lulu Hypermarket in the GCC and JD Williams and Park Cameras in the United Kingdom.

The principle: the most persuasive sentence in a proposal is an honest "does not fit".
